Actually, (from what I remember of FYS) the man is supposed to be her husband, Louis XVI. Also, the french word for “ostrich” is insanely close (maybe the same) to the french word for “Austrian.”
As far as I know it is Lafayette - I found the picture with I think is the original caption here. But yep, ostrich is autruche and Austiran is autriche, so the propaganda artists made use of the similarity as a pun!
