Last weekend I went to the city of Worms for the weekend. Worms is south of Frankfurt, and it's noted for the remnants of its medieval Jewish community - the synagogue (first built in 1034), the mikveh (from about the same time), the Jewish museum (now in a rebuilt early modern building), the Judengasse (Jewish street), part of the medieval ghetto, the Jewish gate (in the medieval city walls), and a magnificent medieval cemetery, which has burials from the early 11th century to the early 20th century.
