In 1996, Ricardo Lopez attempted to kill Icelandic singer Bjork by sending her a bomb. Ricardo believed that he had some connection to Bjork, and became upset when she started to date a fellow musician. Previously, he wrote in his diary about fantasies he had for the singer, and claimed that he was in love with her. Ricardo began to record video diaries, and would continue to have a fixation with Bjork. Feeling like he had been rejected by Bjork, he planned to harm her with a bomb filled with HIV infected needles. However, after realizing how difficult it would be to make, he settled for a bomb that would put sulphuric acid on her. After the bomb was sent to Bjork’s apartment in London, he shaved his head and covered himself in paint before shooting him self on camera. Ricardo hoped that if Bjork was killed by the bomb, the two would be together in heaven.
