Strange how hard it is to find sources for furnishing plans. The game won’t directly tell you of course; surprisingly UESP doesn’t list sources either.

Like these Colovian plans,

it’s usually containers: furniture, backpacks, urns. Monster drops seem too rare to bother with (IMO). But occasionally plans come from other sources, like zone dailies, or (newer) antiquity bonus drops.
