In honor of National Coming Out Day---hello yes, I’m here and I’m bi. 💖💜💙
It’s taken me many, MANY years to be comfortable with this aspect of myself, especially centered around my attraction toward other girls. I’m still not where I want to be in terms of self-acceptance and community, but I suppose all good things take time. I’m getting there, and that’s what’s important.
Thankfully, I have amazing friends who support me and have made this journey toward self-acceptance infinitely easier, infinitely less lonely, and infinitely more endurable. It’s a tough world to live in if you’re not straight and/or cis, but I hope I can do my part to make it easier for all of us.
Since so many people in the Star Trek fandom are also LGBTQ, I know you’ll probably be tempted to reblog this beautiful photo of Spock with a bi flag background (created for me by the lovely Alex @spacehomos) but I am going to ask that you not reblog this. I’m not out to anyone off of Tumblr and Discord except for a few real life friends, and certainly not to my family. Maybe one day I will be, but like I said before, these things take time.
Thank you and LLAP. Best of luck to everyone else on this special day. 🖖
