Imperial Noble Consort Wenjing (1873-1924), and Imperial Noble Consort Keshun (1876-1900) were sisters who became consorts of the Guangxu Emperor of China (reigned 1875-1908). In the West, they were respectively known as the Jade Concubine and the Pearl Concubine. The Emperor particularly favoured Keshun, though was not fond of Wenjing.The Emperor's adopted mother, Empress Dowager Cixi is rumoured to have had Keshun murdered via drowning in a well, though she initially liked Keshun (but came to hate her).
