The brilliant singer-songwriter, Tor Lukasik-Foss, who performs as Tiny Bill Cody, created this funny, bittersweet, catchy and altogether remarkable song based on my new novel, Yiddish for Pirates. The song, like my novel, is narrated by a pirate’s parrot. I defy you not to sing along with the oy-yoy-yoys. Tor noted at my book launch that he wrote the song not having read my book. I think creative artists are often inspired by the inventive rearrangement of facts that they are not aware of. This is in entirely simpatico with my approach to history in my novel.
