Age regression is a chronologically earlier or less adapted pattern of behavior and feeling. When someone is regressed their brain is in a deep psychological shift. They experience this shift; in other words they safeguard their mind unconsciously as an instinct learned through trauma against feelings and thoughts that are too difficult for them to cope with consciously. They do this to escape and protect themselves. Even if an individual were to regress because of a positive trigger they need to be supervised online because they are mentally children, they do not have the same thought process as an adult would. Tumblr and instagram are 13+ platforms that can potentially be dangerous for someone in an unconscious state that happens as a response due to trauma and mental illnesses that the brain uses to escape and protect them. Age regressors and children in general need to be looked after in environments that won’t trigger or affect them negatively. Social media isn’t the right place to insure that won’t happen. It is easy for children to be manipulated and taken advantage of. It is easy for children to become terrified. It is easy for age regressors to be targeted online by those who have bad intentions. I personally never see children under twelve years old on social media platforms worrying about taking aesthetic photos of all of their toys and coloring books they have, it’s also not common for an age regressor to want to be photogenic with novelty items that weren’t present in their youth. Most children under twelve years old that have social media accounts have a guardian running their account for them or helping them do so. (For safety reasons and because children are usually not the best at taking photos or articulating themselves clearly.) It would be the same for age regressors as well. With the kink community being so associated to childhood and online agere in general it is safer for age regressors not to be online, any guardian can agree with that. Of course there are safe ways a caregiver can create and monitor an age regressors account away from the kink community and the online agere community, but taking all of this information into account and going through your options of what to do to insure that the child’s safety is priority is the reason why you commonly don’t see regressed individuals online today. They are being cared for and they are being a child. Depending on the situation, age regressors need to have the childhood that they didn’t have. Social media was not huge part of many people’s childhood, only today in this generation it is.
