©18/11/15 EGG BOX PENGUIN🐧
For my latest SunDIY project I went fully festive! This cute penguin was made out of a segment of an egg box. So easy to do and such a great room decoration if your into more shabby than chic! Which I apparently am.
Moveable wings... as they are made out of paper and you can bend them.
Also rippable and not water resistant.
More of a reason to put this fun creation pride of place high up on your mantle piece or bedside table! You can even add a fun Christmas hat or create a whole army of penguins from the rest of the boxes... next on my list is to create a reindeer out of the other egg box section so I can create an elegant Christmas display for my flatmates, family and friends :)
When you cut out the segment from the rest of the box it has lots of slits but these are perfect for adding wings and a tail, just cut out the shapes that you want ensuring you have an extra bit of cardboard for a tab, and then use masking tape or PVA glue to stick it on to the inside by the tab. I then added feet by the same process, however you may want to paint these before you add them to the main body so that the orange paint doesn’t get smudged with the black body. Then just ensure the main body and all the added parts are stable... I did this by just wrapping loads of masking tape on the inside. Then all that’s left to do is paint it!
Overall I am quite pleased with this product as it was quick to make and fun to look at. It adds some much needed festive tones to my room. Also would work as a great gift for anyone who likes penguins or Christmas.
