SunD.I.Y Catch Up! This morning I created this paper flower in order to catch up with my Sunday blog posts and simultaneously experiment with 3D media that could be synthesised with my India Brief. I have been wanting to create them for a while as I have some really visually beautiful and clearly instructed books on the craft of paper flowers. After I decided to work in a wider range of media for my India brief I bought some tissue paper from Works and I was able to finally practice with the flower art! Overall I am happy with it (although my first one did take longer than I thought! I expect this would get better with practice) and nothing went wrong for once! I would need to find a better stem, I just used glued tissue paper but this would look much better and be much more useful as a decoration if the stem was made from wire as it would be more sturdy yet flexible. I really like that you can use the simple design to then go totally your own way and be completely creative, changing shape, size, colour and amount of the features. I also love that you can adapt the stock such as by painting on the tissue paper before hand in order to create even more unique and detailed work.
