After World War II the Second Guard Tank Army of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany occupied the area in which the building is located and access was denied to all German citizens. The local mansions new purpose were as accommodation for the families of high Soviet commanders and this big yellow villa became the Officer’s House. As the occupying forces left the area in 1993, the former owners received their properties back. Most of the buildings were in such bad conditions, that they had to be completely renovated before the residents could move in again. A few of the houses stayed abandoned like this we visited. In the front of the mansion is a forgotten statue of "comrade" Lenin.
