Ian McKellen: "My mother was dead by the time I became an actor. But she had said, and it's a constant comfort to me, to her sister (my aunt), 'If Ian decides to become an actor that'll be all right because it will bring a lot of pleasure to people.' And I get a bit weepy when I hear that. So that's basically what I do with my life, try to help people enjoy themselves."
